- Reminder that OAuth v1.0 authentification standard, co-developed by Microsoft, has been updated to OAuth 2.0 for data security reasons
- If customers have an older MFP that does have available new firmware to upgrade v 1.0 to 2.0, customers may have problems using some scanning features
- Example of how users may be impacted if still using OAuth 1.0:
- Google Workspace turned off less secure apps by March 14, 2025
- Microsoft ended legacy authentication on September 30, 2024
- UPS required updates on August 5, 2024, to continue using personal UPS accounts
o DocuSign ended support for v.1.0 on January 31, 2025.
o Users cannot connect via Google Sync
o On March 14, 2025: Access to less secure apps (IMAP, SMTP, POP, CALDAV) turned off
completely
o Microsoft 365/Email: Final deadline to transition away from basic authentication for
