  • Confirmed that Microsoft Windows 11 OS is NOT ending support for legacy v3 and v4 printer drivers
  • Stated: “Windows has not ended support for legacy printer drivers. If your printer works with Windows today, it will continue to work and no action is required”
  • Removed from its Windows Central webpage mentions of support ending
  • On 7/1/2026, Windows will adjust its internal driver ranking to “prefer” for Microsoft’s built-in internet Printing Protocol driver over 3rd party drivers
  • On 7/1/2027, will limit 3rd party printer driver updates via Windows Update
